• Auditionees must print their own lyrics and sides before auditions.

• The MONA LISA role is open to audition as an understudy role

• Callbacks will be invite only, based on the initial auditions
  

Audition Tips

Think CHARACTER: Remember that every role in this show tells a story. Whether you are acting, singing, or dancing, we look forward to seeing you express your characters through the vocal and dance auditions.

Vocalists:

• We are not only looking for a well executed vocal audition, but someone who carries the heart of the song you are auditioning. This is a beautiful combination of storytelling, worship leading, and grandiose performance!

Dancers:

• We are looking for technical excellence as well as grand performance quality!

Actors:

• These characters are wildly expressive and must fill the Rady Shell stage, so be larger than life and lean into your physical comedy!

You will be evaluated on:

1. Emotion (My ability to connect with the song and the audience)

2. Pitch (My ability to start and stay on key for the song)

3. Tonality (My ability to resonate my voice and adapt to a song style if necessary)

4. Tempo (My ability to keep the beat and flow of the song)

5. Vocal Range (How high or low I am able to sing)

Dancers

Teen/Adult Dancers: ALL auditionees must learn and perform the ballet dance phrase as well as 60 seconds of your own choreography in any genre.

Child Dancers: Please prepare the choreography provided. ALL child auditionees must learn and perform this dance phrase.

You will be evaluated on:

1. Technique (My ability to execute the choreography well and with finesse)

2. Accuracy (My ability to stay on tempo and perform the choreography correctly, as given)

3. Expression (My ability to emote through movement)

4. Connection (My ability to relate to and interact with fellow auditionees)

5. Innovation (My ability to add surprise or excitement during improvisation)

Leads/Supporting Leads: Please come prepared with the provided sides. You will be asked to perform solo and with other auditionees.

You will be evaluated on:

1. Characterization (My ability to separate my natural tendencies and project the character)

2. Articulation (Am I understood? Enunciation, clarity, projection, etc.)

3. Chemistry (My ability to create a believable bond with another character or the audience)

4. Emotional Dynamic (My ability to express a diverse range of emotions)

5. Movement (My ability to move in a way appropriate to my character in a particular setting or circumstance)
